On Monday evening we had dinner with Rachel (she is definitely one of my favorite people in the area). After dinner she joined us in a lesson with our friend Charles. We had a really good conversation about the first part of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He has told us he is not sure how he feels about going to a new church, but still wants to meet with us and learn more.
On Tuesday, Sister Flake got sick, so we spent most of the day in the apartment, and I was losing my mind. I paced the apartment reciting scriptures most of the day, so I now have some more memorized. We went to a lesson with our friend Jackie because we promised her we would bring a friend with us to give her a priesthood blessing. It was such a good lesson and she was so happy. After that we washed our car for Zone Conference and went back to the apartment. It was a really slow day. Although, while we were both showering that night, the Hermanas came banging on our door because they had no hot water in their apartment and wanted a warm shower, so they used ours.
On Wednesday we had Zone Conference. We drove to New Albany, IN, and I felt like I was going home. Zone Conference was so good! The main topic was baptism and helping our friends progress on the covenant path. I really liked the quote, “You cannot put on the spirit like an old sweater.” The worst part of Zone Conference was that we lost the go-to scripture competition! I learned that you can never trust the STLs. (They were at our district council when we were discussing our plans and they decided to give us a run for our money…and beat us at our own game.) I mean it did come down to them watching a video to see who won. After Zone Conference, we went out to ice cream with the other sisters in the zone. Right after ice cream, we drove to our member meal. We went to Cracker Barrel with Sister La Rue and the Hermanas. We had the best waiter while we were there. He was so genuine! After dinner we did some social media and studied before calling it a night. We had a super sweet conversation at dinner and we we were talking about where we were from. The member said her sister used to think Texans were Texicans.
On Thursday we had Crest class. The topic was testifying of restored truths. After Crest class we weekly planned. After planning we had a phone call lesson with a Facebook friend, and it was so good. Sadly, he does not live in my mission, so we will have to pass him off. After that we visited a lot of people and then went back to the apartment to do social media and report.
On Friday our day went drastically different then we planned. We had a lesson planned, but they canceled because they were sick. We scheduled another lesson at that time, but they also canceled. We ended up visiting another person because we already had a member joining us and it ended up being so good. It was exactly what our friend needed! After that we visited some people and had another lesson fall through. It ended up hailing so we decided not to go door knocking. We had dinner with a pastor and we are still not sure what he wants out of meeting with us, but he has the cutest 2 year old! It started snowing really hard while we were there, so we drove to sports night in the snow. After sports night we called it a night.
On Saturday we visited a million people. We had a phone call lesson with a new friend and he came to church on Sunday! One of the people with visited was an inactive member and we had such a good conversation with him. He and his wife have been talking about coming back to church and they have been inactive for over 50 years! After our visits, we had a lesson with Randy, our new member. After his lesson we ate dinner, reported, and called it a night.
On Sunday, we had a friend come to church! After church we went door knocking, visited some people, and had dinner with the Swenson family. I love their family so much! The highlight of the meal was playing the priorities game. The mom goes, “Lets get this game over with, get rid of family!” The whole family agreed. It was so funny (they are a super close family, but are always joking around)!
