Monday Night we finally got our new member's dot! We were able to look through it and set up a plan to help him progress.
On Tuesday we had our mission wide zoom call and talked about the importance of following the standards. One of my favorite quotes from our mission president during the call was, “Always stick to the handbook, we make enough mistakes following it, why would we ever go against it?” The other quote I loved from the call was, "He loves the newly wed and the almost dead too!" After that we had a technology call for all missionaries that are in training. After that we visited some people and had two lessons. We had a lesson with our friend Eric. He is super awesome! After his lesson we had a lesson with our friend Jackie. After Jackie's lesson we had dinner with the Nall family. They are super sweet and I love them! After dinner we did some social media, 12 week, and had our weekly STL call.
On Wednesday we had a phone call lesson with our friend Ron. After his lesson, we planned for the upcoming week because it was the only reasonable day for us to do it. After planning, we visited some people and got so lost. Sometimes Google maps likes to route us in weird directions (like it wants us to drive through a neighbor's yard). After visiting people, we had dinner, did social media work, and had some extra study time.
On Thursday our day went drastically different than we had planned. We had crest class in the morning and talked about involving members in missionary work. After crest class we drove down to do service for someone, but they ended up needing to reschedule, so we joined the social media call instead. After that we had companion study at the park. After studying together, we ate lunch and were supposed to have a video call lesson, but the friend never picked up. After our short lunch, we had an awesome lesson with our friend Pam. We had to shift her date back for baptism, but her husband has started expressing interest, so she is hoping he might join her in getting baptized! He was super tired when we got there for our lesson, but told us he is going to join us next time. After that we had a lesson with an inactive member and she is awesome. Her son joined us and he is hilarious! He showed us his full sand dollar and an actual puffer fish that has been gutted. He also gave us an entire sports rundown of who he wants to not win the superbowl and why. After that we went home, ate dinner, and did social media work.
On Friday we had district council. The main topic of District council was church organization and how it supported the Bible. My favorite quote from District Council was, “Life with the Holy Ghost just hits different.” It was said by Elder Ragan who is a convert to the church. After district council, we had lunch with Sister Wagner. She makes me laugh! After lunch we visited some people and ended up having a lesson with our friend James. He really confuses me because I cannot figure out his thought process. He told us he was above church? After his lesson we had dinner and a lesson with our friend Kenneth. He is pretty amazing and has such a desire to be a good person. After his lesson we went to Volleyball night.
On Saturday we got a call from the bishop telling us to go to the church and help make Tamales for the ward activity that night. We ended up making Tamales for about 2 hours and then did service for another lady for an hour. We then flew home and ate lunch before going to a lesson with our new member. He is super awesome and so knowledgeable about the gospel. After his lesson we had a lot of contacts and then went to the ward party. The ward party was so much fun and I even got a paper crown out of it!
On Sunday we went to ward council and church. After church we had an hour long correlation meeting (our ward mission leader is new to the calling so we are all figuring it out together). After that we had personal study and got a text from a lady asking if we could help he pack to move that evening, so we drove down there and help her pack for two hours. After packing we finally got to eat dinner. It was 7:45 pm. After dinner we did social media and had a DL call. Definitely a very different day than we had planned, but it was where God needed us.
There is so much joy to be found as we get to help the Lord move his work forward. Miracles to come!!
