Keziah in Kentucky: "RONG!"

Oh what a week!

On Monday we had district P-day. We went to the civil war museum and village (anyone who knows me knows I love history). After going to the museum we went to the awesome gas station to get ice cream. Unfortunately It was rather hot, so on the drive to the church I ended up with ice cream down my pants. At the church our district wrote letters and played Happy Salmon together. It got a little intense :) After 6, we contacted people. We then went street contacting downtown, read the Book of Mormon with Kristen, did social media work, and finished the night with a call with the zone leaders.

On Tuesday we had a lesson with our friend Betty. She is quite the talker, but so sweet. We biked to her lesson. After her lesson we had lunch with the Fulkersons. They are a super sweet and funny older couple. At lunch they kept telling us funny stories. After lunch we visited some more people and ended up having a few impromptu lessons. After that we walked to visit some more people (although we had a lot of people not being home). We then contacted people, called our friend Rico, had a device audit, and prayed about exchanges. After that we had dinner with the Cochrans…still some of my favorite people in the area. After dinner we attempted to call Rico back but he did not answer, so we finished the evening with reporting.

On Wednesday we decided to go for the chaos. We had a lesson in the morning with Joe and the Karrs. After his lesson we were supposed to have a lesson with our friend Chrissy, but she was not home. We then contacted, ate lunch, and went to help at the food pantry. I love helping at the food pantry! After that we drove down to New Haven to have a lesson with our friends John and Michelle. That was definitely a wild lesson since I was car sick when we got there and we then sat in a shed with someone smoking (needless to say I did not feel great). After their awkward lesson we went to visit some people in the boonies. We then had a lesson with our friend Rico and visited a referral named Judy. She is awesome! Not only did she remember submitting the referral, but she still wants to meet. After her visit we had a lesson with Murphy. He is so excited for the temple and it is so cute! After his lesson our friend Anita was supposed to have a lesson but she did not answer. We then ate dinner, did social media, and finished the night with a DL call.

On Thursday we had a zone comp study in the morning where we talked about what we learned at zone conference. After Zone comp study we had a social media call. After that we ate lunch and went to help at the thrift store. After helping at the thrift store, we had a call with the DFTCs, SMLs, and ZLs. It was a pretty good call other than that we were sitting outside getting eaten alive by bugs! We then ran to the post office for one of our members, and contacted people. We then successfully weekly planned in an hour (I felt really accomplished). After that we did more public contacting and then ate dinner. We then contacted a million people (not quite), did social media, and planned our training for the Fort Knox district. We also got over 21 thousand steps that day.

On Friday we had our district council in the morning. We talked a lot about miracles in the work. Right after district council we drove to E-town for Fort Knox's district council. Their district council was really fun and we talked a lot about finding people to teach and asking the right questions (helping friends with needs). One of the funniest things was that we played a game where everyone was doing something and an elder had to figurw out what. We decided that every thing we said had to start with the following letter in the alphabet (from the person who spoke before). We were on R and one of the Elders very excitedly goes, "RONG!" Everyone started laughing and his companion just goes, "you are so dyslexic." It was extremely funny! After their district council we exchanged with the Brandenburg sisters. They are awesome. I went to Brandenburg with Sister Hatch. She is a party. We visited some people and then had a member meal with an older lady. She was so sweet, but she was definitely a talker! We were supposed to have a lesson after but they canceled so we visited some people instead. We visited a member and she let us pet her alpacas. We then visited a friend named Stephen and he is so funny. Meanwhile in Bardstown, the sisters put our friend Stephen on date to be baptized!! After that we called it a night although our group almost killed us instead of killing the zone boss of the week!

On Saturday we did our studies and then did service for an older lady. She thought I was Sister McFarland the whole time and we just let her believe it. After service we changed and did some social media work before have a lesson with their new member Bill. He is so sweet and funny. Best quote from the lesson, “I drove 90 miles an hour to get here on time,” (He was still late.) After that we met the Sisters In E-town for lunch. After lunch we exchanged back. We then replanned our day, public contacted, and visited some people. After visiting people we texted A LOT of people. We then ate dinner, did some more contacting, and finished the night with a call with the Lebanon sisters.

On Sunday we biked to church. Unfortunately I did not wear the best dress for the occasion and ended up with in stuck in my bike chain. When I was unable to successfully pull it out, I took the tire off and got it out. We then got back on our way only slightly worse for wear (there are now holes in that dress). At church I was asked to bear my testimony because I am leaving. After church we biked home. We then studied, and went out to visit a lot of people. We had some really good contacts but it is quite difficult to get 30 testifying contacts when you spend a lot of the day in the car. After that we had a 10 minute dinner followed by Branch Coordination. After branch Coordination we did some public contacting followed by social media. The elders were supposed to call at 8:30, but they ended up calling at 9 (probably for the best since it allowed us to get 29 testifying contacts). We then spent 45 minutes on the phone with the DLs because our Lebanon sisters are struggling. That call ended with us asking President McGinn if he could call us. We then laid on the floor waiting for a call and our friend David called! He was our 30th testifying contact and one of the highlights of the day. After that President called and we came to the conclusion that the best thing to do was to get the Lebanon sisters out of their area, so they are here with us this evening and tomorrow. At that point we had no after 9 time left, so we quickly got ready for bed and went to sleep.

One of the coolest things this week was that we got 30 testifying contacts every day for the last 4 days straight. Bardstown is crazy busy and I cannot wait to continue to see miracles!
