On Monday night we had Dinner with the younger Welthers (we have two sets in our ward). After dinner we had a meeting, but we did not have time to drive home, so we did it in the car. Some other members saw us and invited us over for cookie cake. We had cookie cake with the Cochrans and then had an STL/ZL/DL call with the Radcliff elders. After that we planned the transfer with the Zone Leaders and then called it a night.
On Tuesday we had our mission wide Zoom call. The music standard for our mission is now that we only listen to the church music app. After the call, we worked on the theme for Friends of Christ stories this month. We are in charge of all the stories for the mission page, so we are unofficial social media leaders. After working on that we had STL/ZL/DL calls with the other two district leaders in the zone and then had a bike day. We biked to visit a lot of people and ended up having some cool miracles. We were able to get in contact with some new members who have been a little off the radar recently and set up a lesson with them. We were also able to set up a lesson with our friend on baptismal date. It was really cool because we had not planned on visiting either of them, but were able to run into both of them. After that we visited some more people and ran into some potentially interested people. We met this super sweet lady named Billy who said that we could text her to set up a time to come back! After that we went door knocking and met a few interested people. Then we had dinner with the Cochran family. Their son (Brayden) is super funny and opinionated. They all kept teasing him. After dinner we biked back to our apartment and reported.
On Wednesday we had Mission leadership council in Crestwood. It was super good. Some of my favorite quotes from the meeting were:
- “A leader should listen more than talk.” (GH 4.4.3)
- “Live the two great commandments and live them in that order.” - President McGinn
- “Let people know you love them, but there is always someone you will love more.” - President McGinn
- “A high goal does not make a good goal, and a low goal does not make a good goal. An inspired goal makes a good goal.” - President McGinn
- “My favorite thing about training was going blind.” - Elder Thomas [The quote about going blind in training came up because our mission president was telling us about a new way they are training new missionaries. One of the elders said that in response, because he was not impressed with the new system]
It was a really good council about having good councils and loving everyone. We also got a new car at MLC. It had 20 miles on it… It is bright red so we named it Ruby. After MLC, we had dinner and then had a really long lesson with the Simpsons. Part of the family is new members (Missy and her son George), but we are teaching Missy's husband John. I love them and their lessons even though they are really good at getting off topic. After their lesson we had a call with our district leader.
On Thursday we had bike day number two for the week! We had a call with the Zone Leaders to plan Zone Leadership Council and then did service at a thrift store. The thrift store raises money for charity and it was a lot of fun to help at. We organized things and they taught us how to run the cash register. After service we were supposed to have a lesson with our friend David, but he never showed up. We went to visit some people instead. After visiting people, we had a lesson with our friend Murphy. It was a really good lesson and we were able to make a plan for all his lessons before baptism! After his lesson we had a lesson with our new members DJ and Jess. They have the cutest kids! They have a 2 year old son named Sydney, a 1 year old son named Zeus, and a 2 month old daughter named Eve. One of their sons kept trying to climb me and he was so cute. After their lesson we visited some people and then biked home for dinner. After dinner we read some of the Book of Mormon over the phone with one of our members. She is so sweet and we try to read with her when we have some time in the evenings. After her call we had a call with the Lebanon Sisters. They are so funny!
On Friday we had bike day number 3 for the week. We started the day with personal study followed by District council. We biked to district council. In district council we counseled about the purpose of councils and using scriptures in lessons. Right after District Council we had a call with our new friend, Karl. He is awesome and he wants to come to church! After his lesson we finished asking people to make stories for the Friends of Christ Page, then we biked around and visited some people. We had a super cool conversation with a self referral. We set up a lesson and she is super excited to learn more! After visiting people we did some door knocking and contacting. Then we had a lesson with the Simpson family. I love them so much! After that we had dinner, did social media, and reported.
On Saturday we had Zone Leadership Council. We had a slight spirit of aloha theme going. It was so much fun and a really good council. We focused on councils, inspired goals, and unity. After ZLC we had lunch at Steak and Shake before heading back to our area. Back in our area we did some service for an older lady in our branch. After service we visited people, contacted, and started weekly planning. Then we ate dinner, called Kristen to read the Book of Mormon, and finished the night with a call with the Brandenburg sisters. During the call they gave us a rundown of their wild week and it was so funny! My favorite quote was, "I'm a missionary and I can't have love."
On Sunday we started the day at Branch council. After Branch council we had church. Two of our friends made it so that was super exciting. After church we studied, had stake correlation (in Elizabethtown), and then contacted some people. After that we had dinner with the Wills family. It was super good and they have the cutest little boys. After dinner we had Branch correlation, did some social media work, and finished the night with a district leader call.
We definitely spent an absurd amount of time in meetings this past week, but now hopefully we are really prepared for the transfer. Miracles to come!

Our temple just reopened after maintenance, so I will get to go on the 26th.
The pictures in front of the temple are from Mission Leadership Council.
(The church building we meet at and the temple share a parking lot.)
