We're Falling Apart

This week was utter chaos, but we survived. 😀
Monday Night we had dinner with the Heaths. I love them. Their son Sam always makes me laugh.

On Tuesday Morning we woke up to no running water in our apartment. We thought if we waited a little bit it might come on. It did not. We contacted the mission office, and they told us the water bill had been paid and they could not tell us what was wrong. It turns out one of the main water lines for the city broke, so the northern part of Corydon had no water. Thankful our church is downtown, so we went there to use the restroom. While we were downtown we were waiting to cross the street and a man came up next to us. He said, “If you just run, they usually stop” and goes sprinting across the street. For some reason we thought that was hilarious. We had three lessons on Tuesday. The first one was with an older man who is not all the way there anymore, but he is super sweet. The second was with someone I started messaging over Facebook. She is so excited to keep learning more and kept telling us that we were the answer to her prayers because she felt like something was missing! The third was with one of our elderly members. After that we sang at the old folks home and then had dinner with the Brunettes. After that we took our LAST bathroom break and had an STL call.

On Wednesday we still had no water, so we went to the Brunettes to shower. After that we frantically got ready and left for new missionary training. New missionary training was great! After that we were supposed to have two lessons, but they both ended up canceling on us. 🙁 Wednesday night we finally got water back, but we were not supposed to use it unless we boiled it. (The city was worried it was contaminated.) The reason it took so long to fix was because they could not find the break. They lost over 2 million gallons of water but it did not surface anywhere. They think it was going into the caves.

On Thursday we had exchanges with the STLs. While we were driving, our car ended up covered in coffee (we are still not sure where it came from). Sister Smith came to Corydon with Sister McKeon and I. We played our weekly uno game with a member and then taught another member English. I was not very involved in teaching because her Grandson wanted my full attention and started screaming when I stopped paying attention to him. After that we had a lesson with our friend Ellie and then had dinner with the Swarens. After dinner we had a lesson with our friend Brittany. That was kind of chaotic. She was babysitting her nieces. While talking to her, her daughter starts throwing up. We got to help clean it up while Brittany tried to do too many things. Brittany is so excited to continue learning, but her life is crazy busy. While driving to her lesson our Tiwi died…again. We had to call the customer support people when we got back to the apartment. We were trying to give them the right number while standing in the dark and having no clue what we were doing. It was quite the adventure.

Friday we exchanged back and had District council. We pretended we biked there and walked in with our helmets. We think one of the Elders believed us. After that we had district lunch and then had a lesson with our friend Wanda. After Wanda's lesson we had a lesson with Lisa and Carter.

Saturday we finally got around to weekly planning and did a lot of service. We went and played games with one of our inactive members and then visited a lot of people. After that we had dinner with Sister Proctor and called it a night.

Sunday we went to church…big surprise. 🤣 We then did some contacts and door knocking before dinner with the Buttiglieris. On the way to dinner, we some how ended up stuck in a parade. The road was not blocked off, but when we turned down it there was a parade coming towards us, so we kind of joined the front of the parade. 🤣 Sister Ballard told us if we kept her from dinner she was "going to eat us." After dinner we had a DL call and watched the Christmas Devotional.

It was definitely a crazy week, but it was so much fun!
