It feels like a scene from a horror movie!

Not that much has happened since Thursday. On Thursday we took advantage of P-day being on a different day and went to the historic sites that are always closed on Mondays. We did a tour of the historic capitol building (Corydon was the first state capital of Indiana) and governor's house. After that we went to Lazy Cow for ice cream. On Thursday night we had dinner with the Swarens. After dinner we had a phone lesson with our friend Dennis. We are still currently trying to figure out if he is creepy or just socially awkward (hence the phone call lesson). After that we contacted people, updated, and called it a night.

On Friday morning we started weekly planning. After that we were supposed to have 4 lessons almost back to back, but all of them fell through except Wanda's. We taught Wanda about the ten commandments (she was already familiar with them, so we just went over them). We also had Sister Heath call in and bear her testimony! She even invited Wanda to church! Then we visited some people and went door knocking. It was a really weird experience because it was around 5 pm, which is usually one of the best times to catch people in this area, but no one was opening the door. To add to it, the entire area was oddly quiet except for some rustling in the woods, and the random church bell in the distance. It felt like a scene from a horror movie or, in the words of Sister Ballard, “I thought I was going to pass away.” After that we were supposed to have a lesson with an inactive member, but he never answered the door. Instead we went back to the apartment, ate dinner, updated, and had some extra study time.

On Saturday we contacted some people and then taught Rattana some English. After teaching her English, we finished weekly planning and made cookies to give away. We visited some people and then went door knocking in two different cities in our area. We actually ended up having some really positive conversations while knocking. We were able to give away a Book of Mormon and set up return visits with three different people. After that we had dinner with the Buttiglieri family. I love Rudy (their full breed Great Dane), but I definitely never want one. After dinner we drove back to the apartment and did some social media.

Sunday we were all over the place. We had church in the morning followed by ward correlation (we had it for the first time in weeks). After that the ward had a potluck to welcome home the Ross family‘s son from his mission. After that we went to the apartment and studied before going to our lessons. We went to teach our friend Johnny, but when we got there his wife said he was not feeling well. We did some social media instead and then went door knocking. Right after door knocking we had a lesson with our Friends Rosa and Joseline at the church. We went over the Gospel of Jesus Christ and it was a really good lesson. It is so easy to talk to both of them. After the lesson we walked them home because it was getting dark outside and we decided there was strength in numbers (plus our car was parked up that way). After that we rushed to the apartment and had a snack before going to Timothy's lesson (he is one of our less active members). We brought the Kanuis with us and it was such a good lesson. We talked about the power of prayer and scripture study. It made me realize how much I appreciate calm lessons. After his lesson we drove back to the apartment and had our DL call. After the call we updated and finally ate dinner.

One thing I have been thinking about recently is the power that God has to do his work. I know that this is God's work and his hand is in all the details.
