Monday was the most relaxing day of the week. We were supposed to have a lesson that evening, after P-day ended but they did not open the door. We contacted people, did social media, and actually had some extra study time for Sister Ballard.
On Tuesday we were supposed to have a lesson with our friend Luke, but he canceled…again. We then contacted people instead. We had out mission wide Zoom call Tuesday morning. We talked about the invitations from zone conference with a focus on getting up at 6:30. After Tuesday at 10, studied and then went street contacting. After street contacting, we had a lesson with our friend Vickie. We have been teaching her the Plan of Salvation and she agrees with it. After that we went door knocking and met a super sweet older man. We then contacted some more people, had some study time, had another lesson cancel, and finished the night with our STL call.
On Wednesday I had my 20th birthday…or my 4th :) In honor of it we decided to contact 20 people during daily contacting. After that we went and helped at the food pantry. After the food pantry, we went street contacting at the new park in our area. It is an insane park. I should have taken pictures (it is about 3 stories tall and pretty amazing). After street contacting we had our DL call. After that we visited some people and went door knocking. We had a super cool experience door knocking. We knocked on this lady's door and she opened it while talking on the phone. We thought she was going to turn us away because she was busy, but instead she asked what church we were with. We told her and she told the person on the phone that she needed to go because she needed to talk to us! The entire time she was talking on the phone, her toddler was telling us to come inside. As soon as she hung up, she invited us in! We are now going back to teach her this Wednesday and she is excited to learn more! After that amazing experience we had a lesson with our friends Charles and Levi. They want to learn the truth and always ask really good questions. Their lessons, however, are super long because of it. After their lesson we had dinner with the Brunettes (aka. a party). They had gotten me a birthday cake, but they could not find the right candles, so they put a 4 on top, so as of Wednesday I officially turned 4! After dinner we had a phone lesson with our friend Dennis. We have decided he is not creepy, so that's a plus!
On Thursday we played UNO with our elderly member. We went straight from her apartment to a lesson with our friends Carter and Lisa. We were planning on talking about the priesthood, but did not get super in depth about it. We had a member call in to bear her testimony about how priesthood power blessed her life. Carter got super excited because he knew her husband and it was so cute! After their lesson, we attempted to visit a referral who we lost contact with. We started singing on the porch so she would know it was us, because she said we would not answer the door if she did not know who it was. She still did not answer, but it was kind of funny. We had some crackers in the car that a member had given us and we decided to eat them while driving. We opened the box and they smelled awful. I do not know what possessed Sister Ballard and I to try them anyway. I did not know crackers could go that bad! Turns out they expired more than a year ago… After that adventure, we did some social media and then had a lesson with our friend Ellie after that. She has read some of the Book of Mormon and believes it is true, but does not see the difference between religions. After her lesson we had dinner with the Swarens. They are so funny! After dinner we had some extra study time.
On Friday we ran around like chickens with our heads cut off! We had interviews with President in the morning during district council. Right after district council we had a video lesson with our friend Emily. Then we ate lunch while doing personal study. After that we went to our lesson with our friend Wanda. We love her! Right after her lesson we had a lesson with our friend Amanda. Amanda is always so excited to see us and she knows the church is true. Now we just need to get her to church and help her make it a priority in her life! After Amanda's lesson we had a lesson with our friend Brittany. I love Brittany's daughter and she loves us! We were teaching Brittany about the Holy Ghost and decided to bring an object lesson to engage her daughter. Zariah loved the object lesson, but wanted all of our attention. She told Sister Ballard and I we needed to “catch a bubble.” Only Sister McKeon was allowed to talk to Brittany, meanwhile we were attempting to keep Zariah entertained. I think we did a great job because while Zariah was dumping soap on Sister Ballard, Sister McKeon put Brittany on date for baptism! It was super sweet and we are super excited for her. After that we ate dinner and had a phone call lesson with our friend Dennis. Good news is he is not creepy, bad news is he remembered NOTHING from our prior lesson!
Saturday we finally had some weekly planning (although it was split up throughout the day). We went door knocking in a newer neighborhood, and then we had a lesson with our friends Joseline and Rosa. They are so easy to teach and absolutely amazing. We are excited to continue to teach them. After that we headed down in our area to teach some more people. We got to a lady's house for our lesson and she told us she had called to cancel. We had no missed calls, so still not sure who she called.
On Sunday Brittany came to church with Zariah and Rosa also came! It was super exciting. After church we contacted some people and had lunch with the Harveys. They never fail to make me laugh. After lunch we had a lesson with inactive members (mostly them telling stories), our DL call, and a lesson with Wanda. After our lesson we worked on a Gratitude video for Facebook (not sure when it is coming out). Then we studied, did social media, ate dinner, and called it a night.
