Keziah in Kentucky: Kentucky Fried Me... Well, Actually Indiana

Monday Night we played pickleball with the bishop's family and had a picnic. It was rather fun and I am not nearly as bad as I was…. After pickleball we went door knocking until it started getting dark. Then we went to the apartment, contacted some people, and did some social media work.

On Tuesday we had our mission wide zoom meeting. We talked about the difference love makes in people's lives.

We decided to have a bike day, and we are actually getting pretty good at it. We biked over to visit Donna. She is super sweet and funny. After her visit we biked to visit some other people, but they did not answer. To make it even better it was cold outside (the wind when biking was not the most pleasant). After that we had a lesson with Sister Kintner and her son Ian. The lesson went super well and afterwards we biked to visit more people that did not answer. After that we had dinner with Sister McIntosh. She is super funny. After dinner we had a lesson with Rosa and her family. They are super amazing and have such a desire to know the truth. After their lesson we biked home for the night. I think in total we biked around 10 miles during the day.

On Wednesday we helped at the food pantry. We were supposed to have a video call lesson with someone in the morning, but the call would not connect. We stopped by the Zimmermans and watched them make glass. We also did weekly planning on Wednesday, because we were on exchanges Thursday. Overall, Wednesday was a rather slow day.

On Thursday morning we exchanged with the STLs. Sister McKeon went to Jeffersonville with Sister Duckett and Sister Smith came to join me in Corydon. I love Sister Smith. She is so funny (and she is my Texas Marie twin). She is also from Texas, we have the same initials (and middle name), and we are both 3rd of 6 kids (3 girls and 3 boys). On Thursday our zone had a bike day, so we biked in the rain. We biked to our weekly Uno game with our elderly member and then biked quickly back to our apartment. We put the bikes away and drove immediately to a lesson in New Salisbury. We did not know where our friend Brittany's house was, so we had to look for it. We decided to call her and make sure we were in the right place before knocking on the door. She answered the phone and it turns out she had completely forgotten and was at a friend's apartment in Corydon. She told us she would stay there and we could come down for our lesson if we wanted. We said we would and drove all the way back to Corydon - to OUR apartment complex! We had a really good lesson with Brittany where we started teaching the Restoration. After her lesson we went to visit some people, but decided to walk there. The person we went to see did not answer, so we went door knocking instead. We had a pastor from another church talk to us. He said that he would give us a hard time - except we were women so he would be nice! 😂 After door knocking we went to the park to text people and ran into Brittany. We ended up talking to her and playing tag with her daughter. It was a lot of fun! After that we finally got around to eating dinner and updating our day.

On Friday, we were supposed to have seven lessons, but all but two of them canceled on us. Friday morning we had district council and it was so entertaining. The STLs were there and they trained on the Book of Mormon. After district council we exchanged back. We then had lunch and went to some lessons. We had a lesson with our friend Amanda (our first member participating lesson of the transfer) and right after Amanda we had a lesson with our friend Wanda. Both of them have such a desire to learn and draw closer to their Savior. After that we headed back to the apartment, updated, and ate dinner.

On Saturday we had a day of partying. We taught English in the morning to one of our members that recently moved from Cambodia. After her lesson, we volunteered at Glasstober fest. It is a big festival with vendors, music, and people making things. It is run by Zimmerman's Glass Art. We helped take orders for glass, but really most of the day we just sat there and watched them make glass. I made the mistake of not wearing sunblock and I burned - more like I fried. Bad enough that the following day I had people commenting that I needed to see less sun. We went back to our apartment after the festival and changed into our Halloween "costumes." We dressed up as each other and switched tags for the ward Halloween party. The Halloween party was fun and I got to hold my bunny friend Potato. We were also the costume judges. After the party we went to visit one of our elderly members and then headed home for the night.

On Sunday, we went to church. Sadly, none of our friends made it. After Church we studied and then visited some people. We had a really funny visit with some older ladies in the area. They started telling us about all their neighbors and their descriptions were quite humorous. After that we had a stake meeting and dinner in New Albany. The Brunettes were also at the meeting, so of course we spent most of it making fun of each other. After that we headed back to the apartment and did some social media work.
