On Tuesday morning we did not have our mission wide zoom call because the MicGinns were out of town. We had our STL call at that time instead. Somehow it lasted almost an hour… I love them! After lunch, we had three lessons back to back. We also biked to all of them. We are getting really good at locking and unlocking our bikes between visits. After that we did some service before visiting more people. Tuesday evening we had dinner with the Barker family. They are so sweet. We did the Book of Mormon can smash with them and they had almost no reaction. In some ways that made it even funnier.
On Wednesday morning we had apartment inspections. They were really funny because everything in our control was super clean. We just had a hole in our ceiling, a possessed kitchen light, and a squishy part on our living room floor. The hole in the ceiling is on the balcony (it was caused by a wind storm) and has been there since March. After inspections we went and helped at the food pantry. We got to watch them empty the box crushing machine. (I do not know why I find that so entertaining.) Then we ate lunch and had our DL call. After the DL call, we met the SMLs (Social Media Leaders) to film Sister McKeon's song. She wrote a song about the Atonement, and it is going on the mission page. That was definitely the highlight of the day because we got to spend almost 3 hours with Sister Bastian and Sister Winkel. We also got to give them a church tour. It is super fun to see people's reactions to the building the first time they see it! After that we were supposed to have a lesson, but they never opened the door. We had some contacts and went door knocking instead. After that we had dinner with the Brunettes. They are definitely our mission mom and Dad in Corydon (even better because Brother Brunette said we reminded him of his kids). After that we did some social media and called it a night.
On Thursday we played our weekly UNO game, and then planned for Send it Saturday. Then we had a lesson with someone we met on Facebook. It was really cool because she wanted to know what made us different from mainstream Christianity and is reading the Book of Mormon! After her lesson, we did weekly planning.
On Friday we had district council followed by district lunch. For district lunch, we went to Texas Roadhouse. Our district is super funny! After lunch we had some contacts and then had an amazing lesson with our friend Wanda. She is progressing slowly and we love her. It was so sad at the end because she asked how long we would be in the area and we had to tell her that there was a possibility we could leave next week. 🙁
On Saturday our zone did Send It Saturday (30 push-ups, post a story, best Halloween decoration, and invite 5 people to church). It was a party because we were in charge. We taught English and then did some service. We did service for an inactive family, and I love them. They are so funny and gave us a whole lecture about how I better not leave at transfers because they would be disappointed in us. After that we attempted to watch the Halloween parade but got stuck in traffic instead. We went to the Allen family Halloween party. We then raced curfew home because we also had to get gas. We got home before realizing the Tiwi had never turned on. We asked Elder Zahlman what to do and ended up unplugging Tiwi until midday Sunday.
On Sunday we had the Primary program at Church. It was super cute. After church we visited some people and set up return lessons. The Harvey family dropped off dinner for us and then did some social media.
Due to our mission having a mission tour and a General Authority coming, P-day will be on Thursday next week. It is crazy to me that transfers are this coming Friday.
