On Tuesday we had Tuesday @ 10 (our weekly mission wide Zoom call). Right after that we had a call with the Zone Leaders to finish planning for the transfer. After that we had a lesson cancel because they lost power (we were having a pretty wild storm at the time). Instead of the lesson we contemplated how to make the week work because we had scheduled an exchange during General Conference (neither the us nor the sisters had noticed). 🤦 We finally decided shortening the exchange was the best we could do, but kind of chaotic! After figuring that out we had lunch and then had multiple lessons. We had a lesson with our member KC over the phone. After his lesson we dropped off the Haitian Creole Books of Mormon to our friends. They were so excited to have them and it was kind of cute! After that we visited some people and had a lesson with our friend Aaliyah. We talked about the Plan of Salvation and she loved it. She has been having a lot going on recently, but wants so much to do the right thing. After her lesson we took some time to weekly plan before ward correlation. Our ward correlation was kind of meager because everyone was out of town for spring break. After ward correlation we did some social media work and called it a night.
On Wednesday we went for a walk with one of our inactive members. We are trying to bring her back. We went to a plant store with her and got to learn about living rocks. They are an epic plant that only needs to be watered every 6 months and it looks like a rock, but every so after it blooms! After walking with her we had a call with the SMLs and DFTCs. In the call we talked about how we could help our zone and the mission as a whole in social media work. Right after the call we were supposed to have a District leader call, but during that time Facebook Messager decided to go down. They called us on the phone instead, but it started hailing during the call and the connection was kind of bad. After that struggle we visited some people and had a phone call lesson with our friend Miss Jay. We talked about the plan of salvation with her and she liked it, but started telling us a story during the lesson and we still both have no idea what she was talking about. After her lesson we packed, planned, and ate dinner before driving to Danville to exchange. We exchanged Wednesday night and I stayed in Danville with Sister Palmer while Sister Allen went to Tates Creek with Sister Sellers. We had quite the party down in Danville since the Richmond ASL sisters were also spending the night.
On Thursday I went running with Sister Palmer. We also had a Zone Comp study, but realized that morning that we had forgotten to ask a companionship to train and we were on exchange, so after much panic Sister Sellers and Sister Allen gave a thrown together training (honestly I don't think anyone except us knew that was not the plan). We then went through all the yellow dots (people who have expressed interest in meeting with us, but are not consistently being taught) in their area. My biggest accomplishment is that we got them under 40 (They were at 70 when the transfer started). After going through yellow dots we had a mission wide social media call. We played jeopardy - the Elders against the sisters. We are still not sure who one since they gave both groups pity points and it ended in a tie. Right after the call we went to the ASL club. I got to meet Robert, one of their newer members who is deaf. He is hilarious!! He is also preparing to go through the temple when they finish renovating it and he was telling me about how excited he is! After the club we ate lunch and then went to visit people. We visited multiple people and got to follow an Amish buggy down the road, so that was kind of fun. After visiting people we had a device audit and then went to dinner with one of their member families. It was quite entertaining and they even got us out close to on time so we could exchange back. We then drove up to Tates Creek to exchange back, and it took way longer to get there than it was supposed to so they most definitely missed curfew going home. 🙁 After that we finished the Zone chat evening and planned our District training for the following day.
On Friday we had a chaotic morning of me unpacking while Sister Sellers packed. We then had a rushed personal study followed by a trip to the store to get things for our training. We then went straight to our district council. Our district council was really awkward. We had a member couple and the Zone leaders there. The members were really focused on the branch and how to help them, so we were just kind of awkwardly there. We left right after our district council to go to Rich City district's district council. We grabbed food on the way which made us 10 minutes late, but the other option was not eating since we had completely taken out lunch to make the day work. At their district we trained on goal setting and using time wisely. We used an object lesson of splitting them into two groups and having them build toothpick, marshmallow towers, but giving the groups different amounts of time. The main topic of their district council (DC) was finding joy and purpose even when things are hard. Right after DC, we exchanged with the Richmond ASL sisters. Sister Wood came to join me in Tates Creek and Sister Sellers went to Richmond with Sister Bursett. Sister Wood and I contacted a lot of people about General Conference. While we were contacting we randomly had a gray dot contact us and say he wanted to start meeting again, so we set up a lesson. That ended up being really cool! After that we went door knocking. The weather app said rain was supposed to end around 5 pm….it lied! We walked to the neighborhood to knock and once we were there we got drenched! We also did not find anyone who was interested, but it was definitely a fun experience. After that we ate dinner, had device audits, and did social media work.
On Saturday, We morning we hurried to get ready so we could exchange back before the sisters had to be somewhere. We exchanged back at 8:30am and with driving time that meant neither of us ate breakfast. When we got back to our apartment we decided to eat breakfast quickly and then go study. We made breakfast, sat down to eat it, and realized we had a missed call from the ward mission leader. Someone was moving and only two people had shown up to help, so he asked us to come and try to get the Elders to come too. We changed and made it there in 10 minutes, but still did not get to eat Breakfast. We ended up helping for two hours, but it was definitely an organized move. We made a fire line down the stairs from the 3rd story to the truck with people evenly spaced and that work rather well, though they did resort to throwing light objects down from the balcony for us to catch. After that we ran back to the apartment to watch conference …and finally got to eat breakfast (at noon). Between sessions we ate lunch and had personal study. After the second session we ate dinner, did social media work, and had a call with the Somerset Sisters. We then watched the evening session and called it a night after.
On Sunday we had personal study and contacted 1 million people. We also finally updated the prior 4 days of chaos. After that we watched conference. Between sessions we ate lunch and then had a lesson with one of our inactive families. Their mom works a lot of hours so it is hard for them to make it to church, but they are so amazing! After their lesson we visited some people and flew to the Bluegrass apartment to watch the last session with them. After the second session we ate dinner and FINISHED weekly planning! After that we were supposed to have a District Leader call but their repeating event ended and they forgot!
